Fanball Drops More Useless InformationBecause I'm a neurotic fantasy everything player, I get baseball and football fantasy updates from every free service on the internets. Around midnight, I got this little nugget from Fanball:

Oh, really, Fanball? Back stiffness? Are you sure? So come on, Fanball. Stop sending alerts about Testaverde's status, as if it's some type of fantasy-impacting revelation. Anyone that actually needs that tip doesn't have a team that's worth a damn anyway. And as a side note, there is nothing Steve Smith owners want to hear other than: "Steve Smith traded to team with viable quarterback." Get serious and give me some information I can use. ![]() Posted at November 25, 2007 10:54 AM Permalink • Filed under: NFL |

Haha agreed. Some of the stuff they have on there is pretty absurd. "Player X came up from the practice team and caught for 4 yards. He will not be a viable fantasy pick." Yeah, no shit.

A running game wouldn't hurt either. But you bring up viable quarterbacks, if I'm David Carr, I'm ready to pack my bags and retire. He's had the concussions and injuries, true, but even if he was healthy, Testaverde would be a better option. That's pretty sad.

What's up with Carr anyway? Was he just insanely overrated going into the draft or did he get damaged in Houston?

@ Anderson - Probably somewhere in between. Carr was doomed from the very beginning. When you're the franchise man/#1 pick, you gotta make something happen. But you can't make much happen (and can't do much OJT) with no O-line. With the way his career is goin (back up to Delhomme AND Testaverde) we're probably never gonna find out.

He's more overrated than he is damaged. Carr can't read a defense to save his life and even when he figures it out, he holds onto the ball 5 seconds too long. He's got a nice arm but unless he's playing with Tom Brady's line, he'll never be better than marginal.

I wouldn't be surprised if Carr ends up like Rich Gannon with a career that's 10 years of futility and 2 final years of "where the hell has this guy been?"
